18 Oct Fall brings new bull calves to the Test Station
It’s October, and at Beefbooster that means the new crop of bull calves are being deliverd to Thorlakson Feedyards Bull Test Station. These bulls will be performance tested over the winter and be available for sale next spring. Over the years we have built a large data base of both DNA samples and phenotypic information, which helps us to better predic which male calves in our breeding herds will make the best bulls.

Next week I will be attdending the Livestock Genetec meeting in Edmonton. There will be a number of presentations and I am sure much discussion on how we adopt all this new technology into the cattle industry in a way that will increase the profitability of individual operations.
