Making sense of data

At Beefbooster, we don't guess. We test. That means starting with the selection of genetically superior individuals, with only a certain percentage of our calves qualifying as seedstock. Then we breed the
strains to enhance certain characteristics depending on your goals. Our testing process is the most
exact anywhere, and we carefully record the data of our bulls to ensure it keeps working and improving
year after year.

Over 30 years of dedication to the vision

In 1970, we began rounding up the best scientists, cattlemen and professionals connected with the industry to develop the Beefbooster concept. Along the way, we had to overcome the traditional ideas
about how you breed and choose bulls, and our perseverance paid off. Today, we're recognized as the
top supplier of hybrid bulls in Western Canada. Plus, we have a mountain of data proving the success
of our scientific approach to raising more efficient cattle.

The proven science of Igenity® DNA testing

Beefbooster bulls are tested for DNA markers using the Igenity® DNA marker panel from Merial to give you a more accurate description of the traits that are hard to measure, or have low heritability. For example, carcass merit traits (difficult to measure) and fertility (low heritability) for more predictable profits. The Igenity test is a comprehensive profile that provides information on a wide variety of traits, for example net feed efficiency.

"What made us mavericks? Our firm belief that hybrid bulls are ultimately superior to purebred bulls, because of the ability to pick and choose to get the best of any breed in the offspring."
